i would much rather fit a non compliant RCD spur to granny's bathroom light than leave it with no protection, but if I did I would be wrong
Yep,
BS 7288 no longer specifies that its products are suitable for use as additional protection within electrical installations under BS 7671.
Thus the product standard for the products now requires upstream RCD protection in the form of 61008/61009.
Therefore, no longer suitable for use under the requirements of BS 7671.
Their product standard has made them a product with no real life use of any value.
