i need to lower a new consumer unit in a garage which means extending the cables..

not a problem but i was going to use a couple of 38/16 trunking down to the new cu..

do you guys use any other methods that would be neater ???

Personally I'd use 50mm x 50mm trunking rather than 38x16.

1] Makes it easy peasy to tuck the cables in, loadsa room!

2] Negligible cost difference.

3] It takes just as long to fix 50x50 as to fix 38x16

4] Plenty of room for later additions/amendments.

5] 50x50mm can hide any exposed holes on the top surface of the CU better than 38x16.
