hello guys,

what do you think is the best way of protecting a exsisting circuit with out replacing the ccu?

could i use twin and earth out of the mcb into a rcd unit?

or tail into a henly block, then to rcd unit?

thanks

external RCD on outgoing cables is probably best. RCD in tails is possible, but not recommended

Remove circuit tails from cu & install 6mm from existing ocpd to a small enclosure/rcd next to cu then take existing circuit tails from rcd...thats the way I do it.

Replace existing Circuit Breaker with RCBO if they make them or you can get hold of them.
ahhh, sorted

its a wylex so should get 1 to fit.

on that note when doing the IR test is it better to do it in the old mcb first so i dont f*** up the rcbo.

thanks

an RCBO will give false readings on an IR, and possibly damage the RCBO
