+1 , IMHO those BMI charts are an absolute joke. They do not consider other factors such as bodyframe and muscle - a labourer on a building site will probably have more muscle than a sedentary office worker.

I'm 5ft 11 and just over 14 stone. Those silly charts say I'm overweight/ almost in the obese sector !. My job involves a lot of walking. I also retain a reasonable amount of strength and flexibility due to my swimming and gym routines.
What about that memory full of dreadful jokes ....that must weigh a stone at least :innocent

Just thought I would come back here. I was getting no where for a long while, in the end I did what I wasn't going to do... I joined slimming world with the missues... That was about the 2nd week in November.

Had a weigh in today.... I didn't loose anything this last week, because of all teh nice food around, but I didn't put any on since the previous saturday which is good :). Diet is now on pause over Christmas week.

Since starting I have lost 1 stone, 5 pounds.... only another 6 stone, 8 pounds to go in the new year (provided I dont gain too much over christmas) Hope to be at the target by the next Christmas

Theres me thinking this was a new thread!

I have always been a bit overweight. at 5'8 I maxed out at 15st 6 after taking on an office job at the aluminium smelter after years on the tools. Always found it hard to shift weight. Started running on a treadmill but did nothing about my diet. Got fitter and able to run more and more but weight didnt come off.

I kept the exercise regime going and also signed up to myfitnesspal.com which is a site where you log your intake and output etc. Sounds tedious but theres a huge database and you soon get into it. Now I'm 13st6 and a regular runner/cyclist. I have been as light as just over 12st but feel good as I am now. Initially I had borderline high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Cant do anything about the cholesterol as its hereditary but BP is better than ever and I feel good.

Christmas or no, I still watch what I eat and drink as this is no diet but a way of life now.

Have a great day everyone!
