As long as you're happy with the price for your weeks work. Sounds a fair deal to me. There are some chancers out there who will try it on if they're busy. Was it an elderly couple by any chance?

I see it as long as you have earnt what you wanted, maybe a little bit more if you made for allowances that didnt happen then happy days no need to worry. The other quote could be from a chancer or someone who is really busy.

I don't think you should up your prices because of that.

i was just worried as i have only been trading for 4 months , and seem to have had a Crap load of work on recently , just wanted to make sure that i wasn't being a fool and charging to little.

I try to make

thats kinda what i thought.... no wonder the bloke ring me back with in 20mins of dropping the quote of and agreed to price.

probably did you a favor, now you seem cheap to them when really your still earning a decent crust.

about that, go to go back next week and do extra's... but its all good!
If you looked at our "starting business" thread (which i`m sure you did),

You worked out how long it would take,

The overheads (van, fuel, day-to-day business running cost)

The amount you WANT to make (per hour)

Materials cost

Allowing for time & cost of certificates & notifying, and a bit on top for unforeseen problems.

Estimate that 10% needs to go into the "tax" fund (seperate account, or shoebox under the bed)

IF you did that, and everything went tickety boo, and you`ve earned AT LEAST the amount you expected (clear profit!), then happy days.

If you didn`t, you priced wrong.

Don`t think I`d rewire a bungalow (inc. CU/earthing & bonding??) for that figure; however your business may not need the same income as mine.........

Hi,

On rewires i quote per point...... like they used to price it up in the old leccy board days.....i will do it for

i remember around 5 or 6 years ago quoting a large house near me on my point system for
