Hi, when wiring a central heating system, I know it has to be notified but is it ok to use a minor works certificate as long as boiler etc is not in a special location?

Also if a bathroom light is just simply replaced should it be notified? Didnt get paid much for job so dont want to go wasting

As far as I understand the type of certificate issued has nothing to do with the location of the works. It is the type of works done that governs if a full certificate or minor certificate should be issued.

If you are doing the work I'd have thought you should know these things? I could have answered your question.

what work can you do without upgrading the earth bonding to the water and gas supply if it isn't in place?

When I had my Elesca assessment I said I thought that any major works required that bonding be upgraded if not to 17th. He said that's not correct, as long as bonding is 'adequate' it is fine, so could be to an older standard e.g. 6mm.

Of course no main bonding at all won't qualify as adequate, so a moot point.
