Hello everyone.

So 5 years and 4 weeks later I have finally completed my apprenticeship ☺️ It has been filled with Apprentice of the year wins for my region and for Scotland, first and second year, a total change in the FICA test, and to top it all off, I have a new job to start on Monday, moving from the industrial/marine sector to domestic new builds. You guys have been here with excellent advice and I'm glad to join the ranks of qualified electrician. Here's to many more years in the trade and many more years listening to the ramblings of you lot.

I was about to say ..Now the heartaches begin ...  but well done  Sparkybob :Applaud

A statement you don't hear very often these days ........... " I have finished my apprenticeship  "     A lesson to our government here ....this is what an apprenticship is .....not all that Lord Sugary stuff showing Essex  yuppies flogging stuff nonsense.

One thing there Sparkybob .....leaving Marine / Industrial  to do  domestic new builds ...............really ???

Very good. Congratulations. Now give it another four years before you really know what you're doing. And remember even after forty years you'll still not know everything.

I have that on good authority from a 68yr old who's nickname amongst the local electrical community is the professor.

:Salute  Congratulations Bob. :Salute

To quote my ex foreman and mentor “now you’ll start to learn”

One question, why are you going in to domestic servitude? If there’s one thing this country really needs it is industrial electricians.

The company I worked for were terrible, ive posted on here before about my "tradesman" and how he was only in the job because he was the boss's son/grandson. I've carried my self through my apprenticeship which make it even more of a proud moment, so the sector change came out of opportunity, offered from a fellow college buddy. Get me some domestic experience as well.

if only,,,,,

I'm trying my damnedest, but I've had to go back to domestic, yet again, just to get my mortgage paid.
