Hello,

I am a qualified electrician but have not yet registered with a domestic installer scheme. I am though in the process of registering with the NICEIC Domestic Installer scheme. any work to date has been passed off by the local council inspector.

I have been asked to fit several downlighters in a house. Do i have to be registered to do this as it is only extending the existing circuits.

I am competent if filling in test forms, I have my C&G 2391 & my own fluke 1653 tester.

Many thanks

Minor works is all you need to do

no need to be registered for that

Hi

Are they in Kitchen or special location?

Are they ELV?

If any of the above then yes this is notifiable work

well no you don't if it isn't in a bathroom, kitchen and they are 240v.

and yes you do need to be registered if they are in a kitchen, bathroom or are selv unless you get Labc to sign off the work.
