In the whole salers today and i met an fellow Sparky with the flashest mode of  transport ever, i thought my VW was flash  until i met this dude, ......what was it.

Tesla, he had a Tesla for work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He just got it, 3 year old, cost around 90k new and he paid half that i think.

The numbers made sense, no fuel cost as he uses the free ones. Only £5 to fill up at home anyway, 200-300 miles on a tank. No conjestion charge. 0-60 in under 4 secs or something crazy. He said one of his customers thought there M5 was fast until he took them for a spin.

He had a telescopic ladder under the front bonnet/boot.

My governor has one with something called the "Ludicrous" pack on it as an extra which gets it way under the 4 seconds, it's 2.4 or 2.7 I think.

Can't see him putting a ladder in it! :)

We were discussing this in another place recently.

The cost of an EV (even that 3YO Tesla) exceeds the purchase price AND a lifetimes of fuel for an IC car.

Until that equation changes, they are not for me.

I am at the other end of the spectrum when t comes to motoring. I sold my old Subaru a couple of months ago. I paid £3.5K for it, got 9 years use out of it, and sold it for £500. I have just replaced it with a near identical one in fantastic condition and low mileage that I just paid £3K for. If that does me the same 9 years I will be well pleased.
