1000 years ago , as a 19 yr old apprentice ,I was one of the few who could drive. One of the bosses says " No one else available, take the new apprentice with you , get all these fluoro tubes in the van and do this lamp change at So and So,s . Take starters too , don,t forget steps........ do this.....do that... hurry up ... don't go to the cafe... fill this job sheet in when you get back....!!"
Gets their van out of the yard ,struggling somewhat because it has a column change gear shift I wasn't used to , however sets off, feeling quite proud to be trusted on my own and trying to appear the nonchalant , confident ,experienced apprentice in front of the new kid, drove about three miles towards the city centre and thought ." Where the *##* are we going !!!!! Had to find a phone box,ring in and ask the boss. :_|
