i keep everything in one location,in a folder on the desktop. everything is in there, with shortcuts from everywhere else. so just stick in an external drive, copy that folder and your done (delete an older backup to make space for new)

also use allway sync with another external drive, so drop HDD in and allway sync does the rest

I use the following, local backup is to a NAS with Yardis running as a real time backup, my offsite backup is via MozyPro (owned by EMC Corp) and as a business the small cost pcm is a legitimate business expense.

I do use Dropbox* for non business or non sensitive files, but there were some concerns about privacy, and if it's free they are arguably under no obligation to look after your data.

One thing I do need to change at some stage is my NAS to a Synology 4 bay model, so I can implement RAID as my current setup is not even mirrored.

* Since Megaupload was closed down by the FBI a large number of innocent users have lost access to there personal files, although there's no current suggestion that they will close down any others it's something to consider in regard to using free file vault services for critical data backup e.g. tax related information.
