My Brother has used one of These in his house renovation.

He has no complaints on it. (Yet, at least).

I just fitted a Toolstation CTI unit as a cheap replacement for a customer damaged one - it seems alright to me. Looks quite good in situ; easy to cut out entry points; full sticker kit - can't really fail it for the money. Have to wait and see how it ages though.

tell us how it got on under "proper road test conditions"...

how much room for getting the cable in?

what about robustness? how strong does the housing feel?

some of the cheaper CU's can be quite flimsy

and start to bend & bow around the sides when you put your cables inside!

It is alot more roomly than a wylex! The pre installed Neutral and line links to the RCDs are tucked nicely out of the way (unlike wylex). The only snag for a split load CTI version is the cost of RCBOs. However, although it dont look pretty a Wylex rcbo will fit and is half the cost!

Are these the same as CPN that were sold by BDC (RIP), they look it.

Looks tha same as CHINT (been there - cheap tat)

have started using Domae (Square D), found no problems yet and cheaper.

CPN and Chint are basically the same unit. The company split in two and use the same mouldings for the consumer unit and mcbs. We are about to drop the CPN range, not because of any quality issues but because they have

put up thier prices by about 25% this year!
