I am currently in the process of building a shed in my garden and was wondering if anyone else has made there own and could give me some useful tips.

I am un-decided on whether to have an apex or flat shed roof. My main concern if i choose the apex is whether or not i could do the birdsmouth cuts.

if you get a couple of earth rods you should be able to join them enough to reach one side to the other, and bend at the apex. some 2.5T&E running accross opposite way will give you something for the slates to sit on. if you ever decide to install electrics in there, plenty rods already installed, and enough wires so any fluorescent tubes should light just holding them up

you should birdmouth a flat one too as its unlikely to be totally flat.

The easiest option is a sloping flat roof.

This could even be built with overhangs to give some shelter from the rain.

This way it is easier to felt the roof and keep it water tight.

thank`s for the replies, even you andyc, however i do not require any earth rods as there are no extraneous conductive parts
