Hi Everybody.

I am semi-retired management, and living in France. Have done all my electrical work both home and work for forty odd years upto 1/2mega watt. Not qualified, but know 17th very well. I have been forced by insurers to have inspections, but never needed remedial work. OK I missed a few 240/440v stickers! I am now getting to grips with the French way of doing things. I could tell a few stories already. It's often deadly here. Our predecessor at this house was brown bread from electrics (no details available). I like the MCBs breaking both phase & neutral, no more annoyances working with the neutral. I hate unfused plugs, and lack of fused spurs. I can live without rings. In certain circumstances eight sockets on 2.5mm2 is acceptable. Ditto four on 1.5! Curiously T&E is not permissable because the earth is not the same diameter as the conductors! Must be a lot of very big earth faults without any fusing here abouts.......

Hello Humph,

Welcome to the forum,

It's good to have you On-Board.

:D

Hello Humph. and welcome to the forum.

I have worked in france and I do believe they really do like seperate circuits to all appliances in the kitchen, I am also aware that they really do like the cpc to be the same size as the phase wires.

In one respect I do like the way they work, in others I still think that the English way is still far better, in the electrical safety respect.

I just wish we had the working ethos, over here, that they have in France.

Makes no difference Mate - We Both lost our Rugby Union Test matches Today.

:(

It was great to see that Wales and New Zealand had the Remembrance Poppy Sewn into their Rugby Jerseys. And the respect shown on the 2 Minute silence.

Take a look at our "Index" page. :|

I was going to, Patch - Until I read his last paragraph.

I must admit though what you have done with the new download and upload section is brilliant
