Look for work anywhere and you won't get a chance. I don't want to sound racist, but it seems there are far too many foreigners doing the jobs that we Brits are capable of doing - instead we're doing jobs that we're not suited to, or signing on.

It used to be immigrants did the jobs Brits did not want to do - now we don't even get the chance. A local agency advertises jobs first in Polish, then in English. I've tried three times to register with them, with no success.

As someone who is desperately trying to move up in the world & get into the industry, it infuriates and upsets me.

As I`ve said before on the forum - one of the two things I don`t discuss is politics.

What I will say is that M107 hits the nail, AFAIAC.......

I`m of the opinion that the (con/lab/lib)etc. are literally just "fronts". The same people actually DO things, no matter who is "in power" (tongue planted firmly in cheek). We are told "this one will do this", or "that one will od so-and-so", but what actually changes? Sod all. It is simply a giant con to control the masses, by fooling them into thinking they actually have a choice.......

Was talking to a West Indian neighbour the other day who works for an agency supplying labour to a large vehicle builder not too far away. He reckons the agency avoid sending Brits ( of either colour) Send Poles instead , the presumption is they are paid less so the agency makes more money from them.

For about 6 months I worked with 4 Polish gents very nice and well mannered , but they had left their families in Poland, come over here to work, they shared a house, all worked at a decent paying company (rare these days I know) they earnt a decent wack between the 4 of them, split all the bills 4 ways, as one told me one day they do it for 2 years then go home, in that 2 years they will of earned enough to pay off their mortages back home ! ! !
