In the sticks…
Guys, I need some help please! :) Going to greyhound racing with a group of friends tonight. I've never been before so could someone please explain the basics of betting for me? Otherwise I know it's gonna be a case of "I'll bet for that one 'cos it's cute"! :D Cheers!

Just pick a dog you like the name of, the shorter the odds the more likely it is to win.  So maybe pick a dog with shorter odds.

You can do all kinds of betting.  I'm sure whoever your going with will have some ideas how to help you.

Easiest way to have fun is look at the screens which will show a combination tricast, pick three numbers/names and ask for an combination or each way tricast. For example: you choose three dogs from the same race with a combination tricast. In this case all possible Tricast combinations are covered and you will win if your three selections come 1st and 2nd and 3rd in any order. That is because one of your six possible tricasts has won. You won't win a lot of money but hopefully over the night you will win a few races which gives you something to shout about and usually your winnings cover your bets so you could end up having a good laugh and your drinks for free......

have fun
