Weird one.....

Today, I check my emails, and find one of my contacts has "replied" to an email sent this morning, from my "yahoo" email account.

Not by me, it wasn`t - there was no-one here!!

It was sent to all the people in my address book - which would now appear to be empty (I can`t find anybody`s details in there!!!)

WTF is going on??

Confused KME

Yes you have, this often happens when you open any usolicited emails, often from chinese manufacturing companies and the like.

My account was hacked and my language settings where changed to chinese. :)

You can reclaim the account but you must immediatly change your password.

Always log out of your email program when you finish a session, do not just close, the email account will be on line even though you have closed it.

Short edit, you can see by the type of message sent to everyone who it was who hacked your email.

I had this happen to me before and was told to put a new contact in my address book [email protected].u or something like that.

It is not a valid e-mail address and if you ever got hacked like that again you would see the message failed report because the first contact that the spam was sent to is not valid;)

Does this make sense i know what i am trying to say:Blushing

Other solutions

Gmail account, will filter these types of emails

ZoneAlarm will also monitor and stop them

SecuriaPSI will ensure you have the latest s/w patches to close s/w exploits

However it's an arms race, as M$ exploits are patched the hackers find more

And I had the "a-man" in my address book.

It didn`t help.........

Seems ok now though
