Hi,

Been doing the domestic installer thing for over a year now. Seen the site before now but never really looked at it but now the work has dried up I have the time to browse. Background is engineering, (lighting product design in NZ). Work up in London during week, live in Wiltshire, just getting back into model planes. One thing that amazes me is peoples reluctance to spend on electrical safety, did some work recently in London, customer wouldn't change a circuit with cotton covered wiring that had fuses on both line and neutral which has been illegal since 1955!!

Welcome to the forum.

Doesn't suprise me as to how silly people can be with the safty apsect of their system.

Tend to use car analogies ie would you feel safe in a 1950s clapped out Morris Minor driving up the motorway. Seems to work quite well.

Hello and welcome, dont worry you get used to people hiding their heads in the sand when they spend money on invisible products like wire! till BOOM no more wire.

Hello Kau what a long user name. Unfortunately some people think because it works its ok. Luckily sensible people get electrical things checked which A gives us work and B makes electrical installations safer. Some people cannot be told. Welcome to the forum
