Help!!! Cooker Hood electrical question

Hello

I just bought a cooker hood to replace the old one. The new one comes with a plug at the end of the cable (to go straight into a socket) but my old one was wired into a Fused Connection Unit. Can I just take the plug off and wire it into the FCU? If not, can i replace the FCU with a socket? Many thanks :Salute

Thank you very much for your help. I recently replaced the shower ceiling switch and its still working so although I am a woman Im sure I can manage it...

Make sure you turn power to fcu off first tho which may be off kitchen ring or maybe lighting circuit

I shall be turning the entire power off...just to be safe lol
