Hi there. Probably a simple thing for a younger techno minded person.

I have bought a new phone LG - P500 Optimus on T Mobile

I have a Nokia X3 on 02

I want to get the contacts out of the Nokia and into the LG

I have done the PAC code and on monday the number will transfer and contacts on the sim will be gone.

Ever gratefully

James

Do the phones come with leads to connect to your PC? Sometimes you can import to something like Outlook and then export them. It's easy done if your new phone is not locked and will accept the SIM card from the other phone.

havent tried that yet and don't use outlook

I have tried transferring all contacts to SIM and putting SIM in new phone.

Tried making a backup on the micro SD and putting that in new phone.

Neither of the above worked

Then you have a lot of numbers to type in!

Where did you get your contract? Carphone Warehouse used to offer to change your numbers over to your new phone, not sure how.

I had a PAYG on O2 but now we live here the special deal of 500 mins from your postcode doenst work as the postcode is a lot smaller geographically here.

I got my T Mobile contract from their shop in Blackpool

Tried bluetoothing the contacts didnt work either

Nah only 1 at a time.

theres a bluetooth system to send contacts to new phone but just says other device does not support.....

i keep phone contacts sync'd with outlook. then a few years ago when i changed from nokia to blackberry, just sync phone to outlook, then set up sync on blackberry and done

even easier if its a newer phone of same make. most have a computer program to backup all data etc & transfer to new phone

I'd ring the shop from where you bought it and ask if they can do anything for you as carphone warehouse definitely do it for free. Or alternatively turn up unannounced wearing your collar ?? Should do the trick (defo would if it was me working there)

hmm, need to get one of those magic collars that make everyone do stuff for you!

I copied the phone contacts on to the sim and put it in the LG but it didnt recognise them I have to get the contacts copied onto a reader and transferred to the LG sim then import contacts. thats the only way I can think that will do it.
