Hi all,

Maybe i need my head testing, but i need to change career (after too many years in retail!) & have decided to train to become an electrician...

Any advice about how / where to train (Near York, North Yorks.) whilst still in current job would be great.

Anyone heard of or any views on OLCI they are a training company ?!

Any constructive help & advice will always be appreciated

- Thanks, Phil.

Welcome to the forum college is best place to get quals evening classes but that is only half of it you will then need to get somebody to take you on to get the experience but good luck if you do decide to go for it.

i started college last year EAL level 2 & 3, just got one year to do, its ok but I suspect not as in depth as the City & guilds and less kudos, as you don't get the on site experience. Passed first year and after I pass next year will be hard getting work due to the low practical experience. Once finished that will do inspection & testing and hope economy changes and more openings.
