tell 'im I told you TT was the way forward, all modern buildings should have it as default.
I have got a grasp of it, i do them everyday. Ive just never seen this before. Ive made a balls up on my part of forgetting that i would still have a high fault current across phase and neutral regardless. Easy stuff, shouldv known better. Sorry guys for time wasting.

its good to have someone to talk too because my boss is a herbert and hard work sometimes, ive learnt everything i know from books and college.

because its alot of current under fault conditions. PFC is 11.1KA, MCB'S are rated 6KA

I'm not being a sod, I just won't give lectures on the forum, I try to bat people in the direction they need to go and let them find the answers themselves because most of the time they are more then capable of doing this and just don't realise they actually know the answer!

why wont the 6a MCB? after all, its much much lower rated, so surely it will go first?

You've got to think about what will happen if you had a 11.5kA fault on a final circuit, just after the MCB
What will happen to the 6kA MCB and what will happen to the 16kA main fuse?

there is no problem if the mcb goes first, ideally that would be alot better! im not sure if the regs says its wrong because on the page after its banging on about it being fine if you have upto 16KA PFC, but at the same time why put those ratings on the mcbs? the mcb failed due to a disconnection time issue.
