Hi,

Would a high resistance joint cause light bulbs to blow?

I know this is a simple one but having a brain fart

Cheers

My personal experience and theory, having been called to many houses over the years where certain light fittings are blowing light bulbs prematurely, has been that lampholders over time lose the spring tension on the connecting pins that press against the bulb contacts causing I squared R (heat) losses. Replacement of the pendant has always cured the problem.

Possibly but more likely Testco specials
I definitely agree with sparkytim too. Cheap ones do not last long !.... although they are being phased out now are'nt they ?.
