you can get anywhere without going by air. might take a month on a ship (or a bit longer in a dinghy), but you can still get anywhere...
granted, but I only have one lifetime. When I retire, then it will be road trip around Europe time. Not very eco-friendly either really, but mitgated by driving at 50 rather than 70mph - 30% less fuel burnt, and maybe a lot of cycling to local sites.

the Dorset steam fair is immense, I've only managed to catch a few hours after stumbling upon it one afternoon. Just love seeing so many vintage vehicles actually doing what they were designed for.

It was my first time there and even though everyone said it was massive I didn't quite realise it would be THAT BIG! :)

that'll be the one Dave. I like the fact they drive machinery up and down a parade all day lone, and have many steam engines etc etc set up to drive lumber mills, ploughing etc, so you can actually see how the machinery was really used

It's cool. I was lucky enough to have a mate there who had brought an old lorry down with him so got a little ride in that.

They had a brilliant WW1 display as well, complete with trenches and the reenacting guys.

Cannot help..

Not had a Holiday for 9 years

Thanks for bringing that up!

However I got 2 passport renewal forms yesterday, so......
We all have passports, but still no holiday for that sort of time here either Kerch, perhaps even more. ; (

... on the one dry and rather warm day we planted ourselves on Pendine sands, for those that have never been it's ideal for kids thigh deep water with sand underfoot...
As long as there's no world land speed record attempt on! ;)
