Do any of you registered with a competent scheme use the NICEIC certs or just print out there own from BS or other software etc. Including PIR's?

Trying to ascertain if there is much requirement (when registered with NICEIC) from the customer to see the logo on the sheets given out

Would you recommend a different body to go with??

Any thoughts appreciated.

As above, created my own on excel with mine and ELECSA logo and type them up everytime, I think it looks a bit better to give a typed copy (mainly as my handwriting is appaling!!)

I always print on my NICEIC certs, I use easycert which is from one of this forums sponsors, I guess you do not need to use "official" certs providing they are to the iee 7671 standard.

I do have some which can be printed out with company logo and the niceic logo.

I still prefer overprint, and easycert, doubles up on my backup.

Thanks for the replies, wasnt sure it was OK to put the logo on none official forms, but then you pay to use it so why not!!

Might have a look at easycert and experiment with putting a logo on standard forms

Cheers :)

Once you are registered with the scheme provider you are given access to download-able fonts/logos that you are permitted to use along side your company letterhead / company logos.

I assume all scheme providers have similar options available..

If I remember correctly with NICEIC, you have to ensure it is clear that your documentation is from your company who is a member of NICEIC and NOT from the NICEIC...

i.e. You cannot print distribute paperwork with ONLY the NICEIC logo giving the impression it is a formal NICEIC originated document.

e.g. The NIC logo has to be smaller than your own Company logo/Header! ;)

So you can write letters, electrical certificates, reports etc..

issued by your company including your NIC membership logo.

Just to add...

providing you use the logo in an appropriate manner NIC are very happy to have their organisation & logo promoted along side all of their registered contactors... (raise the profile)

I guess most scheme providers are similar? :D

This is true of British Standards, I personally use megger powersuite with bs logo on it but if you use there logo ie on vans etc it has to be to there standard.

I use easycert same as GH, just add my logo & niceic DI logo & print onto plain A4.

Invested in the easypat software aswell last month, customer well happy with the register compiled from it.

Now have remote/online backup of certs with Easycert aswel.

I use the NIC forms through easycert. Primarily due to some of the commercial companies requesting it that way. Used to print by own with their logo on it - equally easy through easycert.

Be sure to use the link in our "Sponsors" section at the top of the forum Main "home page" please. as the clicks are monitored from there. :D

Thanks.

Just downloaded the trail for easy cert and looks good. Like the fact it allows you to print onto plain sheets with company logo and scheme logo on, aswell as overprinting the NIC certs you buy.

Just a thought, if you were to have the NIC certs printed at a printers, is this infringing on any copyrights?

It would be so much cheaper doing this if you like using their certs.

1. Their certs are copyright. They`d `ave you, mate.

2. Even if they weren`t, they have unique serial numbers. You`d be issuing a hell of a lot of certs with the same number.

You **can** buy "numbers" directly from NIC, and using certain software, print out NIC forms with these numbers on.

BTW: easycert is the mutts knutts (Bri: do I get care package discount yet?) ;)

Though as much.

Why couldn't you add serial numbers yourself, isn't this what you do when using Easycert?

Yes, but the NIC ones are pre-printed on.

Technically, you COULD tipp-ex / cover this, then add your own number - except for one little thing........

You don`t know which numbers have already been used; and could duplicate someone else`s cert. numbers!!!!!

Besides, as already said - they are copyright.

Dont forget with easycert you can send a pdf of the cert to customer by email, I do this for a couple of regular commercial customers.
