Hi Lads, this is a question to those of you who are/applying to become MCS accredited as I am doing my 2372 C&G PV course October with a view to becoming MCS Accredited

How do you go about getting accredited without having an Installation under your belt? What I mean is, any customer wanting Solar panels installed will want the benefits of the feed in tariff / Generation tariff but you can't offer this with out having MCS Accreditation , but you cant get this without having a job that can be assessed.

I could put my own house up for assessment, but that would mean fitting a Solar system to my own home at considerable cost, if the suppliers would sell me the panels ..

Any help, advice, guidance would be appreciated

What you have to do is:1. install the job, and sign off all EXCEPT m.c.s.

2. have accredition inspection, pass & approval.

3. re-sign job off as M.C.S.

plus the course you do needs to be *** approved as well,

is the C&G course approved? I have no idea myself, I done mine via NICEIC.

I am also looking into *** accreditation. I am not too worried about the installation side as i would hope the installers course will cover that, but the office inspection daunts me. Is there any guidence for numptys for getting all the paperwork sussed?

Hi Guys,

Just picking up on the discussion to see if we can help atall. We are MCS Accreditation specialists and work closely with electricians on getting MCS Accredited for Solar PV, Wind Turbines & Hydro. The inspection itself will consist of 20% being on an installation you have done whether this is your own house or a customers or your office, the other 80% of the inspection is on your quality management system ie. Your Health & Safety, Procedures, Operations etc which basically means from the initial phone call from your customer you have to follow strict MCS procedures to be MCS Accredited.

If anyone wants any more information on the requirements to be MCS Accredited , the technologies you can go for or the Feed in Tariffs, have a look at http://www.mcsaccredited.com

Or if you want to send a PM or give us a call.

Regards

Easy MCS
