Hello Folks,
Well this looks like an interesting forum, hope I can learn a bit.
You may guess from the user name that I nowadays do only agricultural electrical work; we used to be part P registered but the boss finally decided we didn't need it and didn't renew; we didn't do much domestic anyway and I can't say I miss it (well, except for the tea and buns:|).
Agriculture is another world; it can actually be quite technically demanding but the standard of some old installations has to be seen to be believed.
Regulation is -er -casual; Levels of destruction are very high. around 25% of our work is repairing smashed up gear. We have to be welders, carpenters, and plumbers at times so plenty of variety.
Part P? Good riddance, from my experience it has compounded the problems with cash cowboys rather than erased them.
Cheers guys 'n' gals
