Excuse my ignorance but whats a hung parliment and whats going on? watching the news but dont really understand whats happening?

I take it BNP arnt running the country ffs lol

from BBC news:

A hung parliament is one in which no party has an overall majority, which means no party has more than half of MPs in the House of Commons. It means that the government will not be able to win votes to pass laws without the support of members of other parties.

i.e. no party has confidence of the commons. Bad news as pound will nosedive until tories get in.

Germany and indeed a few other contries have hung parlaments (germany since WWII) i dont think its done them any injustice, it may bee a good thing providing the people can be amicable

I think at least part of Germany didn't have proper elections for a few years after WWII.

hung parliement could be good or bad, there all gonna be striking deals to try and form a majority gov i.e. labour & lib dem or cons & lib dem. who knows?

Brown will probably go though, IMO.

i reckon labour are best to sort pound out, not consv!

plus consv wanna get rid of loads of legal stuff, dunno what that do for part-p or elec bieng compulsery for HIP?

whatever happens something gotta change, need economy to be sorted- i need some work!

Because they know how they broke it?
Yes it's amazing, the person responsible for our mess was the Chancellor of the Exchequre, the very man who thinks we are stupid and had forgotten this

Mind you he can always prop up

Gutted about the result, I really hoped the torries would get it. Too many selfish votes, I voted torries, because they have the good ideas to get out of the mountains of debt weather I get taxed more or not. All these public sector workers voting for labour or lib dems to keep their jobs and the greedy benefits to go with them. Which will only make this country worse.

No one knows for sure how the next how ever many months/years will be and it will be a troubled few years no matter who gets in.............................

I havent voted in 22 years as my own view no matter who wins , they will not get everything right and NONE of them can be trusted 100%, to do whats best for everyone in the country. They will do the best they can. The same as anyone one of us does.
