Just mentioned to Admin, that with 20 years or so in the PC industry, and with a house CAT5'd with PC's falling out of cupboards, streaming video room to etc, I've a good understanding of the techie stuff (stop thinking "nerd" you lot!!!), so if I can help with questions I will

Seemed only fair as I'll be asking electrical questions in return

Rob I think understanding computers is a lot harder than this sparky stuff so you have got the short straw. There are always plenty willing to help.

You could start by explaining to apache that computers are not that easy for us of mature years, give me a huge mainframe type thing with punch cards any day:D

I have a question: If you have had a file in the recycling bin, then that bin has been emptied, is there anyway to retrieve that file?

Thanking you in advance. :)

Patch "yes" well that will sort it out then eh! Applaud Smiley

ABC since the file is now flagged by the OS as deleted, you will need to use an undelete or file recovery program, your success will much depend on how much free space is left on your disk, and how many saves of files since you emptied the bin, since windows does not reuse space on the disk efficiently it may reuse the disk space where your file was immediately or in several months (one of the reasons why drive performance drops over time)

Hope that helps
