Evans - Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What you and other people consider to be "Free Speech" will ALWAYS upset one person (more than).

This can be a problem in the UK as people are fearfull to speak out and let their "OPINION" known because they fear being accused of being racist.

As long as it stays as a genuine Freedom of your opinion (and not Racism disguised as freedom of opinion) - Then I have no problem. Otherwise it goes.

I think everyone knows on here that this is NOT a Politics Forums however.

Thanks Admin ,I understand perfectly that the Forum should be free of poltical pressure . I have no party axe to grind.

When I start waffling on it is not political or racist, it is my genuine concern for what was once a great country being mismanaged and taken advantage of. And by country I mean the union of England/Wales/Scotland/Ireland because if us lot can't get on then there is truly ,no hope.

I was merely trying to make a general comment and express my opinion , albeit losing the plot that this is The Jokes Thread.

Sadly all this is too true. To be able to plead asylum you should stop at the first border you reach and ask for asylum there - well there are a lot of countries to pass through before you get here so therefore every asylum seeker is instantly an illegal as they have broken the law on asylum.

Secondly the people who are calling this thread racist are causing part of the problem in this country. All these people who say this are preventing normal people from speaking out in fear of being called a racist, this is pushing all this sort of discussion underground and building a hatred for all these people who come here whether justified or not. If everyone was allowed to have a sensible discussion on this matter without fear of being accused of being racist then it would get it out in the air and people could give honest opinions without fear - we would then know the publics real opinion. By pushing all this sort of discussion away we are building more and more hatred and I beleive within the next 5 years we will have mass riots on the streets between different ethnic backgrounds - its already starting now.

We are now overcrowded and have no more room and need to shut the borders in my opinion. I'm fed up with it. If we had no English homeless and everyone had a job then fine let some more in but we don't we have 2m unemployed a mass shortage of houses etc etc. Also someone above mentioned these people have left good jobs and lives in there homlands to live here below the poverty line well if its that bad then why don't they go home then?? All those that come here with degress and qualifications should rather than coming here and trying to force us to let them live how they want to go and improve their own countries - boecome teachers or build bridges and roads etc not come here and ponce of us for there own gains and stick 2 fingers up to there own nationals at home.

Better stop now - I could go on about this for hours!!

I call a spade a spade. The points of view by some of the posters are clearly rascist. If it's a problem, then change your point of view to one that is more acceptable to society.

I find racism offensive, just the same as I find peadophillia offensive. If some one made a joke on here that was paedophilliac, I wouldn't worry about frightening that person by stating that the joke was offensive.

If as you say we are so overcrowded, why are there so many vacant Council properties in the Midlands and the North of England?

Why are employers advertising in foreign papers for people to come and work here? Your local Health Authority is one of those employers. Every building site I have been on for god knows how many years has foreign Nationals working on it.

That you suggest that they should go back to their own country that they have fled in fear of their lives, shows to me that you have a callous disregard for human life.

You obviously have no understanding of what these Asylum seekers are after. All they want, is to be somewhere where they will not be beaten, tortured, raped and killed. They don't want to ponce, why should they , the majority have skills and education that can be used to more than adequately support themselves, only problem being they are not allowed to do so.

Trouble is many of the asylum seekers in this country aren't fleeing from those kinds of things they are here for the money not for safety, if there is a genuine safety reason for them being here then fine I've got no obection but there isn't.

How many of them arrive from France or other European countries in lorries and cars? Plenty do thats the answer. I work in the docking industry and its common place there to find them in lorries or new cars coming in from abroad.

I don't think any of the above comments are racist. Personally I don't agree with racism, lifes too short to dislike someone because of there religion or skin colour, my point is people jump so quickly onto this racism card now that it prevents a sensible discussion being held about anything. Why do you think the BNP is getting such growing support?? Because no-one will let them speak and brands them as racists and prevents them from doing a proper sensible debate, I think let them speak, let them have debates with the other main parties without all these people trying to stop them and by letting them speak they will quickly show themselves for who they are and will lose support.

What you said about the housing in the north may well be true, I live in the south about 1/2 hour from the centre of London and there are no empty houses here, the developers keep building more and more houses and the prices still keep going up because demand out strips availability, I know a couple who lives in a coucil 2 bed flat with 3 kids because there isn't a spare house to move them into.

Its not racist to have a healthy care and concern for the state of your nation. Britain is overburdened, more taking out of the system than putting in. Weak leadership making poor decisons and ruining a once great country.

Just to clarify I vote BNP and am not racist but enough is enough. Were getting overrun by foreigners. I live about 30 mins from London too and how many people speak English on the streets round here ...... council estates are overrun with crack houses and people are calling eachother racists. Too many idiots in society sticking up for others before our own people. I am in agreement with Blue Fox totally on his thread above. Can it be dscussed without the racism card being pulled out.

Asylum seekers are not allowed to work, untill their case has been decided, except in very rare circumstances.

They receive about two thirds of what someone on JSA would receive in vouchers, which only
