Hi All

I've recently undertaken a maintenance contract for a medium sized supermarket/food store in London, and was looking for some advice in regards to impact protection on their socket outlets.

They have a massive problem with staff members continually what seems like kicking plugs into socket outlets and smashing the socket, sockets are all flush mounted white plastic. whilst this is great for me in a financial sense (continual call outs) i am looking for a better solution long term as they aren't suitable for type. I have been looking into metal clad sockets to replace however these don't seem to be covering the entirety of the whole of the original socket. an ideal scenario would be a flush metal clad socket however a google search and 2 wholesalers tell me these don't exist, i have also looked into fitting brushed chrome style metal sockets however a large part of the socket surround are plastic and it isn't really solving the problem?

anyone have any ideas what could be used please?

Thanks in advance

sockets at the same height as any trolleys? if so it might be better to forget about making the socket stronger and place a metal bar or something sticking further out to stop the trolleys hitting it to start with
