Impossible cu change?

Hi just wondered if anybody has upgraded a consumer unit that is housed in one of the old style metal enclosures that is sunk back into the wall. The ones that have the meters inside too and a metal door. Have been asked a few times about changing these but wouldnt know where to start?

I know the sort of cabinet you mean. Did a CU change on one about 2 yr ago. Used a 6 way main switch board with RCBOs. A bit tight, but okay.
