A third party can inspect someones work, they just can't complete an EIC for work they haven't done.

Hi ,moose man., Are you talking about the Inspection & testing section of an EIC in General terms or are you referring to the Building regulations requirements ?

anyone can inspect a 3rd party - but they can only sign a 3 part EIC and only the I&T part of it. design & construction would be by relevant people - this is often done on larger jobs (sometimes different people within same company, sometimes a different company)

under part p, a 3rd party cannot notify a job that someone else done

i am referring to building regs side i know there is a section on the i&t forms for a third party under design

thanks for the reply

Except that last time I downloaded part B from there we found out it was out of date. We were having a discussion about needing seperate isolation for smokes when on a lights circuit.
