Hi hope someone could help.

Ive recently purchased a hive active heating themostat

Ive a combi boiler, so no need to control the hot water.

My issue is that i purchased a dual channel reciever.

Could the dual channel reciever be wired up to control the central heating only?

The difference being that there is no common on the dual channel reciever.

Thanks

and please excuse my ignorance

As long as your boiler is expecting a switched live then its fine, if it wants a set of volt free contacts then it becomes slightly more complex.

For some reason (possibly limitations of the number of terminals on the back plate). The single channel unit presents you with the changeover contacts of the relay, allowing you to configure as you wish. The dual channel unit just gives you two switched lives powered from the controls supply.

Hi just installed one at home. The switching contacts are volt free. you will only need to use the Common and Heating on terminals for your combi and leave the water terminals empty.

But did you have the single channel version? or the double (like the OP) the double channel version doesnt give you the terminals you woul expect if you are familar with the single channel verson

The base plate is the same for both.
