I installed an isolator switch between the supplier fuse and the ccu, but where I've cut out the bit of plastic to get the tails in there is a nice big hole you could put something down. I've seen some kind of brown sealant used on the supplier side before, what can I use to fill up this gap?

You really should have cut it out more accurately!

You should not use silicon sealer as it gives off acetic acid on curing which can cause corrosion in joints and affect polymer compounds, i.e. plastic materials, i.e. PVC insulation among others.

use a wylex REC-2 next time, they already have preformed entries, though for 25mm tails you need to file the ridge off, 30 second job with a round file.

lol, this was a case of I knew what I meant and got the terms mixed up. >_<

1mm in diameter hole was what was in my head, so yeah IP4X lol

Be careful with decorators caulk as its water based and not an insulator.

I use intumescent fire sealant from screwfix when i need to seal around cable entries
