Looking at buying a electric fireplace insert. It says it has a 1350 watt heater. Now if I plug that in along w/ all the other stuff in that line ( tv, reciever,, blue ray) will it be to much for the 15 amp breaker? Or do I need to have it on its own supply?

Thanks for any help

TV's & home entertainment stuff is generally low power gear..

so your fire is probably the only higher power item...

So with the limited detail giver I guess it would probably be OK.

you would be best finding an american forum and asking there. american regs may require fire to be on its own circuit or something.

from what you have said would be connected though, you would most likely be close to the limit of the 15A, but unless you plug in another highload, i doubt you would have any problems

Right I am probably going to get absolutely shot to pieces for suggesting this. :run

Home Depot run workshops on different trade tasks, electrical work is one of them. You can organise your job around this, but obviously have an electrical permit in place before you decide to do anything - whether you employ an electrician or not.

The trade specialist that you want to talk to is Lester.

Apparently this store is the closest to you - providing that I havent got the location wrong. (14.4 Miles)

Thanks to all who answered. Yes i'm in the US, but this is the first forum that popped up. I have never seen one for the US but I'm sure ther is one.

I will have to check the US code.

Also ZEEsparks that store is about a block away, so I try and see if I can get a hold of lester.

Thanks again.
