The youngest daughter was allowed to take a video of her choice in to class today so she took in Wallace & Gromit. She's 9 btw.

WASN'T allowed to watch it as it's a PG. Fair enough but they WERE allowed to watch Oliver...............child abuse, animal abuse, murder, thieving etc.

AND when she gave her teacher a box of chocolates she got an "air hug". A proper hug isn't allowed any more.

C of E school btw. This'll be the third year they've not held a nativity play.

Daughter did make a lovely Diwali lamp though.............

You're kidding us  ...right... OnOff ??

A C of E  school that doesn't have a nativity play .............. now if you'd said it was a Birmingham City Council school  I'd have believed you .

Mustn't upset the Muzzies must we .

Stems from a poor OFSTED report putting the school into special measures. A new head took over, the report was done and of course the old one got the blame. S'funny as when the previous head was there they had their highest ever 11+ pass rate including my boy.

The argument ref the nativity was it would detract from teaching time etc. They held a "Special Christmas Assembly" but there was no kids taking part. Loads of complaints so they held a hurried "Easter production". I think the infants still may do the nativity though.

Funny how schools always seemed to manage before OFSTED was thought of ...but then of course , the kids all faced the front  listening to the teacher instead of sitting groups talking amongst themselves .

And don't get me started on Grammer Schools ....best schools in Britain so what is Labour's policy ?  Shut them all down is what it is .

The worst thing for politicians to handle is people with a good education ........can't bullshine  'em see.

And no , I didn't go to a grammer ,  the old Secondary Modern I'm afraid , but they are the best schools followed by  what were called Technical Schools , which you pass for at 13 .   All closed down now of course , in favour of the Comprehensive system  ...Hmmmmm  ...doesn't hold a candle to them I'm afraid.

There are still Grammers in this area , the King Edward's Foundation Schools as an example ...excellent .

At FECKING last i can use my LatinI THINK therefore I am......Cognitus ergo sum

I am victorious

To be fair to the school they never gave the movie a classification so I can hardly see how that is their fault.

Cuddles. Well I cannot say I am a fan. Safeguarding is not only about safeguarding the children but also safeguarding the adults.

Ah yes  How well I remember the electricians showing us apprentices how to set conduit , in latin , what fun we had .

Measure one cubit to backus ov bendum ad allowum fer half ap coupler .

I didn't get where I am today without speaking latin  ...you only have to look at the TNCS system ...made no sense  until someone told me its Terra  for Earth .........Stupid boy!!!
