hi, in a kitchen does the isolation switch for the dishwasher have to be directly above the socket or can it be on a seperate wall but near by..... just cos there is a sink near by the dishwasher..

 
i think mate so long as your cables are in the zones it would be ok, u could even plug it in a unit.

some one will correct me if i am wrong

Its Ok to fit a socket in a cupboard next to the dishwasher then there is no need for isolation above the units. I usually fit them to rear spar just below the worktop so there is less chance of it getting tw*ted by some pots and pans. I have seen others fit then on the underside of the work top.
