Back in the 70's & the miners strikes with power cuts all the time i rigged up some  torch light bulbs in series to the phone line to get a bit of light. Had just learnt about series & parallel in school.

well that is the upside of a landline, it's got its own power supply. Would never have thought about plugging LEDs into it though

Very popular in India apparently...

Just don't answer the phone if it rings...

Home phone is never used. Office is use a lot. I think it is professional to have a fixed line when running a business.

Nope. Never needed one. Still fill in loads of forms requesting a fax number though.

defo for business, mobiles could be any bunch of cowboys.

How many people still have an office fax machine?

me but only because its a multi function printer. it is actually plugged into the phone line, no problem sending a fax but to receive one i would have to un-divert the landline

Well I buck the trend.

Mobile reception here is very poor indoors (though a lot betrter since I bought that chinese mobile phone repeater from ebay :innocent )

I hate phoning people on their mobiles, usually the signal is poor, but I have to pay to call mobiles, but calls to landlines are included in my landline rental.

My work mobile is pay as you go, I rarely make calls on it, I have is so people can phone me.
