I got well and truly stung for a pint on this today...
Sit in a chair, lift your right foot off the floor and start swinging it around in a clockwise circle. While doing that put your right index finger out in front of you and write in the air, the number 66.
Why is your foot now going the other way?
I havent been able to do this without my foot reversing, Ive tried enough times that Im getting funny looks now :| Apparently the reason is that your brain can only control your right or left side in sync. There arent any connections in the brain that allow you to move them independently in this way. Im not totally convinced about that since I know a bloke who plays the drums for a amateur jazz band and he can drum a different rhythm using each foot (on the bass drum pedal things) as well as a different rhythm on each drumstick!
If anyone finds a useful purpose for swinging your foot around while writing 66 let me know. :^O
