when do you use the left hand rule and when do you use the right hand rule when talking about magnetism.

for both,the index finger is direction of magnetic field,the middle finger is direction of current and the thumb is direction of force on the conductor,the left hand sends the force one way and the right sends the force the other,what rule do you use and when?
