In the office again.
I was looking for a padded bag for lifting the panels onto the scaff - I`m not going to say how we do it at present - lets just say that it needs to be changed.

I looked at the Pafbag; but that is really silly money!!!

So I`m considering summat like a 1 ton jumbo bag; with maybe a horse blanket inside.

What`re you all using, or intending to use?

Oh, by the way.

Following discussion today with MeggerMark; we may be offering pre-configured connection units, with DIN rail generation meters, similar to the Wylex kit, but a LOT cheaper. Is anyone interested?

any idea? and what exactly?

a stand alone CU with built in meter kinda thing? will the meter be MCS accredited/DNO approved?

something else Ive wondered, if you use a 'all-in-one' unit, do you still need a separate AC isolator?

Not if you put it inside the enclosure.

Mark has another unit there, cheaper than the Wylex, but still expensive.

Meter and AC iso will be MCS accredited - I don`t think the OCPD needs to be??

What I want is a pre-configured unit, which can either

a) have cable entry for AC from inverter; and cable outlet for connection to henleys, main switch, etc.

OR

B) have cable entries for AC from isolator & tails, and AC out to customers` install (i.e. splitting the tails through a "REC4" or equivalent.

Whichever anyone wants.

Meter, OCPD (2 pole RCBo), AC isolator, and, in the case of "b" above, the 4 pole switch, too.

KME,

doesnt the meter have to have DNO approval though, and be calibrated?

oh, I'll give you a bell in a bit, just having my dinner and only just noticed your message, :|

I'll not say how I've been doing it to date either but I did think about sandwiching the panel between two sheets of cellotex and clampling with a couple of ratchet straps. I keep thinking about it but I expect I'll carry on the way I've been doing until I ding a panel of me mucker falls off the ladder!

this should do the job

couple of slings a decent bit of rope works well, but have been looking at bags for convienience. Will be trying local sail-maker to see if they can make something half decent as bag pictured above looks slightly flimsy to me, as in fine when new but in a year who knows.
