I attempted to change a light fitting in our front room and now the light stays on, the switch doesn't do anything it remains on at all times.

The rest of the downstairs lights are all still working. Not sure what's wrong please helpScreenshot_20220529-102430_Gallery.jpg

Hi there,

Just changed the light switch and is working now. Somehow must have buggered the old switch not sure what I must have done to be honest

well i could take a guess... you wired it wrong, blew the switch closed, then wired it right but switch now being dead means its on all the time... seen it many times

I agree my my esteemed colleague on his diagnosis of the probable sequence of events...

Most makes of 6amp or 10amp rated switch contacts typically weld together quite nicely when a full prospective short circuit current flows through them!!!
