dead basic question :coat

Can upstairs lighting and downstairs meet at a switch if on separate circuits.

Always avoided it if i can, but on job im doing at moment would be good in same switch as im limited for space, one is for hallway downstairs and 2 way for landing (2gang)

Can it just be labeled to isolate all lighting circuits or is this not allowed?

hi there, previous firms ive worked for in the past have either popped a seperate switch as you say, or just ran them all in the same switch.

i cant clarify the regs side of it but if im working in someones house i naturally expect to find some strappers at least fed from up or down ccts

Multiple circuits can share the same enclosure.

just as with conduit runs, fuse box etc.. ;)

No real need to label the switch IMHO, common sense...

CU's has MCB's for Up & Down lights, switch operates Up & Down lights...

therefore isolate up & down if changing switch! :|

(otherwise we would have to have individual CU's for each circuit!).:OBlushing
