Linking capacitor to original motor

I recently removed the motor and start capacitor out of an old Hoover tumble dryer, I would like to use them as a power unit for another device but I'm not sure if I can join the capacitor to the mains wires from the motor, as the motor still has the original cable connected to it, the capacitor has two terminal neither has any marks about positive or negative.

A motor capacitor is non polarised so can be connected either way round.
