I installed a 6mm 3 core SWA (20 metres) to shed a few years ago, TNS supply and normal 2 way garage CU with RCD main switch. There are just a few sockets and couple of bulkhead lights as the shed is just used as an office.

The customer has told me she is going to have a water supply installed for a sink.

Just need to double check that no main bond will need to be run if suppy and waste is all done in PVC.

PVC.....?

can't see a problem...

All you need to be thinking of is..

Are then ANY extraneous parts introduced into the shed?

I am guessing it will probably be a metal tap on the supply pipe..?

but I am also guessing its going to be insulated from the ground by the PVC pipe?

Once it has been fitted probably be good idea to go and do a continuity test from tap to electrical earth..

Low res (continuity) & High res (Ins res)

Real figures are ALWAYS better than guess work then you can make an informed judgment.

I presume the Shed is RCD'd??

could also out of curiosity do an RCD test & Earth loop test with an external earth probe onto the new tap to ensure NO paths to earth that could require bondingidlyosous wires added!!!

:) ;)

Thats great specs thanks!

So if I got a reading under 20k ohms then install main bond, otherwise no need to bother?

If its all plastic pipe and you get a reading anywhere near 20kohms I will go and eat Dekes Y-fronts for my Sunday lunch...

ROTFWL :slap

My intoximicated brain is liking your way of thinking...

If it were my customer I would probably say....

Get the tap fitted then I am willing to come and do a few basic

safety electrical test readings for a nominal cost of

Well when the sink is fitted and I go and test it, I'll just make sure that I dont get my number of zeros correct for the ohmic reading when reporting back!

Oh hang on, I'm not sure whether you want to eat Dekes y fronts? Actually how do you know he wears Y fronts and not a thong lol!

in relation to 2nd part of your post, yes we got all of the alterations done for the Mrs. Its much better for her now thanks even just having the toilet downstairs is a great help for her, however i am banned from using it!
