meggar mft fault

hi all

I have a meggar all in 1 MFT but a fault display keeps coming up it is a rectangle with a line through it & battery fault comes on with it when doing a continuity test but the earth loop test are ok???? please help

Have you tried fresh batts?

yes mate 2 lots of new & rechargable ones i use

Just looked at the manual on-line and that's the fuse symbol. Have a look at page 5 of the manual about fuse replacement.

"The blown fuse should be replaced with a 500 mA (F) HBC 10 kA 500 V

fuse (Megger part no.25950-039)"

BTW page 5 also says:

"Battery type: 8 x 1.5 V alkaline LR6 (AA). Rechargeable batteries must not

be used."

If you replace the fuse and it doesn't fix it then it's bust I'm afraid. I had exactly the same fault and sent it back to Megger who fixed it under warranty......

There you go Ian You went above and beyond your duty with your help! Well Done mate!!

Had the same problem with mine. Sent it off direct to megger and came back not only repaired, but had a full calibration and they also replace the broken casing, it looks like brand new now. Best of all, it was all done under their 3 year warranty.

The fault was said to be a faulty high voltage PCB in the MFT.

Meggers MFT1552 fuse went and I bought a box of these from RS
