megger powersuite

My PC died a few months back and reqd a new hard drive. the repair guy told me he would save all my files but id have to reinstall the programs

I have tried to reinstall the megger powersuite but it says cd is blank, ive actually just bought an external drive thinking it was my dvd drive playing up but this says its blank too

do megger have a self destruct thing so you can put programme on more than 1 pc??

should I contact them monday?

it shouldnt be able to self destruct. maybe something not set up correctly?

Powersuite is not the easiest software to install on other computers. I use xp and tried to install it on a vista PC so it is on two pc's. But trying to put data across was the problem. Have you a support package because I think you may need it.

Some s/w packages do lock your serial number to the unique ID of your PC's CPU, you can often tell, if during the install generates a number that you need to validate on-line it will likely mean you you can only install on one PC at a time

Since the Megga s/w is for use with their testers I can't see any point of them using this type of copy protection it would be a bit OTT
