Does anyone know of a reasonably priced 15A metal clad switch fuse (single phase),,, I have to wire a compressor through one as it keeps on blowing 13A plug top fuses (1362's).....

I would fit a mini metal clad CU with an MCB, probably a C curve for a compressor.
25A will give you more space to wire it, you can always fuse down.
Don't your local wholesalers have anything?
Does it have to be metal?
Oh and IF it is a business, then you might need to consider the needs for emergency isolation of energy.
Thus the plain grey unit Andy has linked to will not comply.
Think Yellow/Red rotary isolator with fuses in, yes, they are available, and yes you can get metal ones with fuses in.

I have a 32 I think in my unit, but it is IP65 also, I know where I got it from, but can't remember how much.
TBH, a rotary isolator & MCB in a box would be fine, IMHO.
Mind, I have used 2 pole MCB's before now, in an enclosure, but not for machines, gives you overload & isolation!
IF, you can drop in a dedicated radial on a 16, then just fit an iso?

I did that in his other unit,,,, this one has a really old fuse panel (seperate iso - no asbestos) and SWA circuitsI have a 32 I think in my unit, but it is IP65 also, I know where I got it from, but can't remember how much.

I was going to take a feed off a local socket (the one it's plugged into now), but it will need fusing down (hence the need for a switch fuse)
It's a garage workshop BTW
OK so rotary & enclosure with MCB should be fine then.

You know what..... I have one of them in the garage,,, and I'm sure that I have a 15A cartridge fuse (& base) somewhere..

It also will not comply with the requirements for emergency isolation of energy if it needs to meet that.
However, a rotary iso before or after would be OK to meet that, and this unit would give you the fusing.
If this is a client, have you quoted them?

why the severe need to be metal ?
I'v e not priced it yet,,, hence trying to find a source... I'll probably go with an enclosure followed by a rotary isolator
There's no real need to stick with metal,,,, I'd just like to use couplers to keep it neat...
Infact I'll probably go with a small PVC IP65 enclosure and rotary isolator

It might only need to be IP44,,, but there is that black workshop greasy dust everywhere... So for the couple of extra quid it'll be having an IP65 one
BTW,,, as the fuses had kept blowing and they'd run out,,,,, the lad in the workshop had taken the top off the plug and fitted a 4" piece of break line instead...... I've since given them a stern warning and a handfull of fuses

I wouldn't stress too much the socket is almost certainly only IP20.
41 even would be fine IMHO.
Domestic plastic "garage unit" CU's are only such a high rating because they expect a domestic garage to be wet.

What about a standard metal garage unit , DP switch and a Hager dinrail mount fuse unit , much the same an MCB .

How about one of my IP65 enclosures, with a 100A Main Switch (60947-3 is OK for emergency switching) and a 16A C curve Compact RCBO?
