Hi, just new to the forum so sry if in the wrong place.... Changing a c.u. from an old 6-way fuse board to new 12-way board... sockets on 30mA RCD. Just 2 questions... do i need to protect rest of the circuits with 100mA RCD? to comply with 17th edition (TN-C-S system)??. Also the incoming fuse rating is 60A right now and to update to 100A i need to install 25mm tails,.. I'm getting the dno out to fit an isolator switch but can this jump from 60A - 100A and changing of meter tails be done just like that??.. because more load is needed on the consumer side?

(changing this c.u is one of my installations for domestic installer scheme so any other help or advice will be great... thanks)

hello biggals

1/ Welcome

2/ don't read any posts Apache, KME or Special location have been typing on other threads...

I am worried there may have been some intoxication!Blushing

3/ REAL WORK..

17th edition pretty well ALL circuits must be RCD protected.

e.g.

All circuits supplying bathrooms

All circuits supplying socket outlets used by ordinary persons

All cables buried in walls less than 50mm deep..

have a look at Page 55

7.2.4 RCD's

in the On Site guide if you have one.

25mm tails would be needed anyway

see page 17 O-S-Guide 2.2.3 Meter tails

DNO will probably only put in an 80A fuse though!

Which is ok for 90%+ of domestic property's approx 18.5kwatt Max demand.
